It has been beautiful weather here lately, it is hard to be inside when the weather is so inviting. However work must go on and I glued up the sash windows and door for the shower. I have to sand them, apply finish, order glass, make stops and then install, but I moved onto to something else.
Today Becky finished setting the tile for the shower and it looks amazing. I can't wait to see what it looks like with grout. I have a few more tiles to cut for the curb, I should do that sooner than later. Also in the bathroom, with Oliver's help we installed crown molding that we salvaged from another room in the house.
I started to pull cypress for bathroom cabinets. This cypress is two inch slabs I had milled a few years back. These particular limbs were cut because of PG & E. When we upgraded the power at the barn they decided to re-route the power line so that it went right between an old line of cypress trees. I fought the idea but failed to convince them that the old way of running the wire was perfectly fine. At least now they won't hack at the live oak that the line was next to before. In order to run the wire another route I had to cut a huge limb. I didn't feel comfortable cutting the limb so I asked a friend who worked for Davey Tree to cut the limb for me. The limb sat on the ground for a couple years until I finally cut it into shorter lengths and hauled it to a sight to have them sliced into slabs. Some of the wood is funky but other slabs are beautiful, it is exciting to be cutting into my own home grown lumber.
